Summer transfer window 2026: all transfers from the Superliga and Liga 2

The transfer window opened on June 17 and closes on September 8. U Craiova, champion after 25 years, is preparing for the Champions League. FCSB lost Olaru, CFR is reinventing itself with a Portuguese coach, and Petrolul and U Cluj were the most active teams in the first days of the transfer window.
We have collected all the confirmed transfers up to the date of publication — organized by position and team, with a focus on what interests us most: goalkeepers.

Goalkeepers of the summer transfer window
Răzvan Sava → U Craiova (loan, Udinese)
The most important goalkeeper move of this summer. Răzvan Sava (23 years old) was wanted by Dinamo, Rapid and CFR, but the champion won the race. He signed on loan from Udinese, with an option to make it permanent.
Sava is a goalkeeper who is fully trained at the Italian Serie A level, with excellent reflexes and sure-fire crosses. U Craiova brings him in to cover the departure of Silviu Lung Jr. (37 years old, contract expired) and to have a Champions League starter under the bar.
Alexandru Maxim → U Craiova (free transfer)
The champion's second goalkeeper acquisition: Alexandru Maxim, 19 years old, 2.04 meters, raised at the FCSB academy and with 24 matches at Voluntari last season. He comes as a backup and long-term project — at 2.04m, he has a physical advantage rarely seen in Romanian football.
Lukas Zima → Petrolul Ploiești (termination from FCSB)
FCSB terminated Lukas Zima's contract, and the Czech signed with Petrolul Ploiești. Petrolul has a Portuguese coach (Ricardo Sousa) and an ambitious project — Zima becomes the main goalkeeper for a team that made 7 acquisitions in the first week of the transfer window.
Mario Contra → Oțelul Galați
The goalkeeper moved from Chindia to Oțelul Galați, where he signed a contract until 2028. Oțelul is building a competitive squad for next season, and Contra brings stability under the bar.
Codruț Sandu — remains at Corvinul Hunedoara
The goalkeeper of the season in Liga 2, with 15 matches without conceding a goal, remains at Corvinul. The decision is an important one for the team from Hunedoara, which lost several starters but retains its most valuable player.
Iustin Popescu → ACSM Reșița
In Liga 2, the former goalkeeper from Oțelul Galați signed with ACSM Reșița.
David Lazar → Sepsi OSK
Lazar left Hermannstadt (relegated to Liga 2) and signed with Sepsi. It's a logical move — an experienced goalkeeper from the Superliga doesn't stay in the second league.

Superliga — team by team
FCSB
The most talked about team in the transfer window, as usual.
Biggest loss: Darius Olaru, sold to Union Saint-Gilloise (Belgium) for around €3 million — 4-year contract, salary of €45,000 per month. Olaru was the captain and brains of the team.

Gigi Becali announces that he wants 3 more players (2 forwards and 1 midfielder), with a total budget of around €5 million. Tavi Popescu has an offer from Korona Kielce (Poland).

Liga 2 — most important transfers
Poli Timișoara — 11 transfers
Recently promoted from Liga 3, Poli Timișoara is by far the most active team in the second league. Under the leadership of Dan Alexa, they brought:
Ștefan Ștefanovici (former captain of Politehnica Iași), Ovidiu Popescu (UTA), Andrei Artean (U Cluj), András Huszti (Steaua), Stephan Drăghici (Steaua), Mihai Dolghi (Reșița), Aurelian Chițu (35 years old, Hermannstadt), Mihai Bonț (Sănătatea Cluj), Sebastian Itu (Cugir), Dan Spătaru (U Craiova 2).
Poli tried to bring Alex Băluță, but he chose Chindia.
Hermannstadt (relegated)
At least 6 confirmed departures, including Chițu (Poli Timișoara), Lazar (Sepsi), Stancu (wanted by FCSB but did not materialize). Difficult summer of reconstruction.
CSM Slatina
New coach Adrian Dulcea released 11 players. Răzvan Matis, Alexandru Stan and Alexandru Răuță (CS Dinamo) came.
Gloria Bistrița
Arrives: Blaga brothers (from Corvinul), Costyn Gheorghe. Loss: Ibuchi Goodnews (to U Cluj).
Difficult situations
Poli Iași risks losing over 15 players. ASA Târgu Mureș has only 7 players available. The 2026-2027 season will have 20 teams in Liga 2.
---
Newly promoted teams in Liga 2
Five teams are promoted from Liga 3: SC Popești Leordeni (play-off champion), Cetatea Suceava, Poli Timișoara, CSL Ștefăneștii de Jos and SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea. Metaloglobus is relegated from the Superliga along with Hermannstadt and Unirea Slobozia.

Overview
The transfer market has only just begun — there are two and a half months left of transfers. A few trends are already emerging:
Goalkeepers are moving first. Răzvan Sava at U Craiova, Zima at Petrolul, Contra at Oțelul, Lazar at Sepsi — the battles for the 1st position are resolved early, because the starting goalkeeper needs time to integrate with the defensive line.
The Portuguese influence is growing. Antonio Folha at CFR, Ricardo Sousa at Petrolul, Nuno Campos at Dinamo — three Portuguese coaches in the Superliga. The transfers already reflect this: Petrolul brought in two players from Portugal.
Departures dictate arrivals. FCSB is looking for 3 players to compensate for the loss of Olaru. CFR lost 5 starters and promises a minimum of 3 acquisitions. Whoever loses the best players spends the most.
We will update this article as new confirmations emerge. The window closes on September 8.

When does the summer 2026 transfer window close?

The Superliga and Liga 2 transfer window opened on 17 June and closes on 8 September 2026. With nearly two and a half months of deals still to come, the list of transfers will keep updating until then.

Where did Răzvan Sava sign in the summer transfer window?

Răzvan Sava (23) signed for champions U Craiova on loan from Udinese, with an option to make the move permanent. Dinamo, Rapid and CFR were also interested, but the champions won the race for the summer's biggest goalkeeper signing.

Why did Lukas Zima leave FCSB?

FCSB terminated Lukas Zima's contract and the Czech goalkeeper signed for Petrolul Ploiești. At Petrolul he becomes the first-choice keeper in an ambitious project led by Portuguese coach Ricardo Sousa, a side that made 7 signings in the first week of the window.

Which team made the most signings in summer 2026?

Poli Timișoara, freshly promoted from Liga 3, is by far the most active team with 11 signings under Dan Alexa. In the Superliga, Petrolul Ploiești and U Cluj lead with 7 signings each.

Why do goalkeepers move first in the transfer window?

Goalkeepers move early because the first-choice keeper needs time to build understanding with the back line before the season starts. This summer, Sava (U Craiova), Zima (Petrolul), Contra (Oțelul) and Lazar (Sepsi) have already locked down the No. 1 spot — the battles for the goal are settled first.
